Dear Parents,
SEP week is here! I am looking forward to sharing the information from our reading, spelling, and math assessments. Remember that school is out at 2:30 and the Book Fair is going on after schools.New book report information will be coming home this week. The subject will be a Mystery and the activity will be making a puzzle. All supplies and info is included in the packet.
Monster Brawl 800 is the contest for boxtops! The goal is for each class to get 800 box tops. This contest will be going on for the month of October and prizes will be given out to those who participate.
Curriculum News:
- Daily Five - Students are enjoying learning the different procedures of our Daily Five time. Each day students are Reading to Self, Reading to Someone, and Writing. Word Work is twice a week. New individual words will be coming home today, they are on half sheet of paper. Spelling tests will be every other week.
- Math - Test for Topic 2 was last Friday. Mrs. Sherratt and I are working together on Topic 3, we will be combining classes to help meet the individual needs of all of our students. Topic 3 is on Multiplication.
- Science - We didn't get as far in Science last week, we were listening to some outstanding county reports! This week we will continue on with Forests and start classification of plants and animals.
- Social Studies/Art - We are starting our Native Americans of Utah Unit this week. This is a very exciting unit of study, students will be doing a lot of art, reading, and writing activities with this unit. The county reports were great! Thank you for the help that you gave your student, I hope that everyone had a positive time working on it.

- Nightly reading, mark minutes on October reading calendar
- Mystery book reading
